7 Everyday Steps to Lead a Healthier Life

Health is our greatest wealth.

That is something we are all well aware of.

However, we frequently overlook our health — due to our hectic schedules or maybe because of our laziness.

But, there are some very simple routines that we should follow to ensure that we have a healthy body, a sharp intellect, and a rejuvenated spirit.

So, here are seven simple techniques that can be adopted into your daily routine. Let us tell you — you will surely notice a difference after a month. Hence, continue reading.

1. Drink one liter of water before brushing.

Drink four glasses (or a liter) of water on an empty stomach — even before brushing or washing your mouth. This has several advantages.

It rehydrates your body.

Furthermore, clearing out impurities, it nourishes your body cells.

It also boosts your metabolism and is an excellent method to lose weight.

Fourth, it hydrates your brain (which is made up of 75% water). Now, when you drink water, the first thing in the morning — it makes you feel bright and sharp, allowing you to think clearly throughout the day.

And last but certainly not least, it encourages bowel movement, which is a great way to begin the day.

2. Eat a balanced diet and never skip breakfast.

Breakfast gives you the energy to go through the day. The word “Breakfast” itself signifies that we are breaking a fast — the period of starvation during which the body was resting all night. It should, therefore, consist of a complete, well-balanced, and healthy diet.

Also, make sure to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water each day.

Then, as the day goes on, consume lighter meals with fewer carbohydrates in the evening. This helps our metabolism to function progressively. A light dinner allows you to fall asleep quickly without feeling bloated. The eventual result is that you wake up feeling fresh the next morning.

3. Drink water 30 minutes before and 40 minutes after each meal.

The stomach functions as an oven that must be pre-heated before the food items can be processed. As a result, it is essential to drink water at least 30 minutes beforehand.

Similarly, after a meal, one should avoid drinking water right away — specifically cold water! The digestive process gets affected after a meal, and hence our stomach’s ability to absorb nutrients gets hampered as well. Thus, try not to drink water 40 minutes after each meal.

4. Stay away from fried and oily foods.

After eating oily or fried items — do ensure to drink some warm water.

Fried or fatty foods are appetizing, but they are certainly very unhealthy. So, if you’re thinking of consuming fried snacks, make sure to drink lukewarm water afterward. This way, the oil will not settle and turn into fat and will be flushed out of your system — easily.

5. Drink a cup of green tea every day.

It is high in antioxidants and aids in weight loss. Green tea is much more than just a cup of tea. It is high in bioactive chemicals, which have been proven to benefit health. It improves brain function, which makes you more alert. It boosts fat burning and stamina as well. It also reduces the risk of getting other types of cancer (Breast cancer, the most prevalent cancer in women, is reduced by 22%, and Prostate cancer, the most common cancer in men, is reduced by 48%). It also lowers the chance of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.

6. Keep your mind engaged and happy.

Work out riddles and brain teasers. These not only keep your mind active but also enhance your brain to solve problems — in maybe a more effective manner. Such exercises also aid in maintaining a positive attitude and foster happiness too.

7. Surround yourself with positive people.

Spend as much time as possible with people with whom you enjoy being!

This process will energize and encourage you to connect with those who radiate positivity and share similar interests.

Individuals you don’t relate to, who have a negative outlook, who complain frequently, or make poor decisions, on the other hand, will sap your energy. Thus, select your company wisely.
